Three Generations of E-Class, Three Completely Different Taillights
The E-Class is the car we see the most taillight demand for — and the most ordering mistakes, because three generations were on the road in huge numbers at once and none of their lights interchange. The fastest way to identify yours isn't the model year on your registration; it's the first three digits of the part number on your old housing: 210, 211, or 212. Match that, then side, then inner/outer. Here's each generation.
W210 (Late Generation, 2000–2002 — E320, E430, E55 AMG)
The last of the four-headlight-face W210s. The rear quarter panel carries the outer taillight unit. In stock now:

W211 (Facelift Years, 2007–2009 — E350, E550, E63 AMG)
The 07–09 facelift cars are the trickiest of the three to order for, because the taillight design differs from the pre-facelift W211 and the same body ran different lighting technologies depending on trim. This is the generation where matching your housing's exact part number matters most — photograph the label on your old unit before ordering anything.

W212 (Facelift Years, 2014–2016 — E350, E400, E550, E63 AMG)
Facelift W212 sedans split the rear lighting into outer quarter-panel units and inner trunk-lid units — check which one is damaged before ordering. In stock:

- Complete OEM taillight set, 14–16 E63 AMG sedan — $675 — the answer when both sides are sun-faded and you want a matched pair rather than one fresh lens next to one pink one.
Ordering Checklist, All Three Generations
- Read your housing's part number — first three digits confirm the chassis (210 / 211 / 212).
- Side — left = driver, right = passenger, as seated in the car.
- Outer vs inner — quarter panel vs trunk lid, where the generation splits them.
- Sedan vs wagon — wagon rears differ; every listing above is sedan unless stated.
- Match, don't guess — if your number and the listing number match, it fits. If you're not sure, send us the number and your VIN before you buy.
