Direct-fit replacement fuel cap for OEM part number 2224700205 (A2224700205, 222 470 02 05) — the current-generation Mercedes-Benz filler cap fitted across the E, C, S, CLS, GLC, SL, CLA, GLA, AMG GT and Maybach ranges. This is the cap on almost anything Mercedes built from 2019 onward, and on a growing share of cars back to 2013. Restores proper fuel system sealing and commonly resolves EVAP leaks, loose-gas-cap warnings, fuel vapour odour, and check engine codes P0455, P0456, P0457.

Confirm It With the Old Cap
The W205 C-Class row above is the one to double-check. Mercedes made the changeover mid-platform on that car, so two C300s a year apart can take different caps. Unscrew your existing cap and read the number moulded into the plastic — if it reads 2224700205, A2224700205 or 222 470 02 05, this is your part. If the cap is missing, send us your year and model and we will confirm which one your car left the factory with.
Installation
Two minutes, no tools. Unscrew the old cap, wipe the filler neck, thread the new cap on and turn until it clicks. If the dash message or EVAP code came back after a recent fuel stop, it is worth confirming the old cap was actually tightened to the click before assuming the cap itself failed — on these cars a partial turn is enough to log P0455. Lights typically clear after several drive cycles, or immediately with a scanner.
