Upgrade your braking system with this set of stainless steel braided brake lines for the Mercedes-AMG E53 and CLS53, 2019 through 2021 — W213 sedan, C238 coupe, A238 cabriolet and C257 CLS. This complete four-line kit uses a PTFE core inside a 304 stainless steel braid for a firmer pedal and more consistent braking under repeated hard use. As temperatures rise, factory rubber hoses expand and the pedal goes spongy. Braided lines hold their shape, so pedal feel stays the same from the first stop to the last.
Fits vehicles without semi-active suspension. Cars equipped with semi-active suspension use different brake lines and are not covered by this kit.
What's in the Kit
- 4 braided brake lines — 2 front, 2 rear
- Stainless steel banjo bolts
- Copper crush washers

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my car has semi-active suspension?
Semi-active suspension was an option on these cars, and those fitted with it use different brake lines. If you're unsure what your car has, check the original window sticker or build sheet before ordering.
Do braided brake lines actually make a difference?
Yes, and the difference is pedal feel rather than stopping power on paper. Rubber hoses expand slightly every time you press the pedal, and more as they heat up — which shows up as a pedal that sinks further the harder you use the brakes. A PTFE liner inside a stainless braid barely moves, so the pedal stays where you expect it. Most noticeable on repeated hard stops, downhill runs, or track sessions.
Do I need to bleed the brakes afterward?
Yes. Any time a brake line comes off, air enters the system and the brakes must be bled before the car is driven. Most people flush in fresh fluid at the same time, since the system is already open.
Can I install these myself?
It's a straightforward job for anyone comfortable working on brakes — roughly 1–2 hours with the car safely supported and a way to bleed the system afterward. If you aren't confident bleeding brakes, have a shop do it. This is the one system on the car where a mistake isn't recoverable.
Should I replace pads and fluid at the same time?
Worth considering, since the system is already open and has to be bled regardless. Lines, pads and fluid together means one job instead of three.
