Front Mount Heat Exchanger for Mercedes-AMG C63 & C63 S (M177)
Lower Intake Air Temps • Reduced Heat Soak • Consistent Power
Maximize cooling efficiency and unlock consistent performance with this high-capacity front mount heat exchanger for the Mercedes-AMG C63 / C63 S equipped with the M177 4.0L Bi-Turbo V8.
Built for demanding street driving and high-load conditions, this upgraded core helps lower intercooler coolant temperatures, which supports lower intake air temperatures and more consistent power—especially during repeated pulls, hot ambient temps, or tuned boost.
Key Features & Benefits
- Increased Cooling Capacity: Enlarged, increased-surface-area core improves coolant heat rejection for the low-temp intercooler circuit
- Reduced Heat Soak: Helps maintain lower temps during repeated acceleration and sustained high-load driving
- CNC-Machined Quick-Connect Fittings: OEM-style connections for secure, leak-resistant operation
- Direct Bolt-On Installation: Uses factory mounting points and coolant lines—no cutting or modification required
- All-Aluminum Construction: Lightweight, durable, and engineered for efficient heat transfer
How This Heat Exchanger Works (M177 Explained)
The Mercedes-AMG M177 uses a water-to-air intercooling system, with intercoolers integrated into the intake manifold. When boost rises, intake air temperature increases, and that heat is absorbed by a dedicated low-temperature coolant circuit.
That warmed coolant is routed to the front mount heat exchanger, where heat is released to ambient air (assisted by airflow and the cooling fan), then the cooled fluid returns to the intercoolers. Increasing the heat exchanger’s capacity improves the system’s ability to shed heat, helping reduce heat soak and supporting more stable intake air temperatures and performance.
Vehicle Fitment
- Mercedes-AMG C63 (2016–2019)
- Mercedes-AMG C63 S (2015–2019)
Note: Fitment may vary by market/trim and front-end configuration. Verify model year and cooling package before ordering.
Specifications
- Overall Dimensions (with end tanks): 27.5″ × 15.5″ × 2.75″
- Core Dimensions: 25.5″ × 15.5″ × 2.0″
Installation
Installs using OEM mounting points and factory coolant lines for a clean, factory-style fit. This is a true bolt-on upgrade. After installation, properly bleed the low-temperature intercooler circuit per OEM procedure to ensure optimal performance.
Why Upgrade the M177 Low-Temp Cooling System?
Under repeated high-load driving, hot weather, or tuned boost, the low-temperature intercooler circuit can become heat-soaked. Upgrading the front mount heat exchanger increases heat dissipation capacity—helping stabilize temps for more consistent performance and reduced heat soak.
