Direct-fit replacement fuel cap for OEM part number 2214700605 (A2214700605, 221 470 06 05). This is the long-running Mercedes fuel cap used across most models from roughly 2000 to 2018. Restores proper fuel system sealing and commonly resolves EVAP leaks, loose-gas-cap warnings, fuel vapour odour, and check engine codes P0455, P0456, P0457.

Before You Order
Mercedes fuel cap fitment depends on factory option codes as well as model and year. This cap is for vehicles built with option code 916. It does not fit vehicles with code 801 or 802, or vehicles configured for ethanol fuel (codes 929 / 933). If you are unsure, send us your VIN and we will confirm before you order.
Newer Mercedes? W205 C-Class (2015+), W213 E-Class (2017+), W222 S-Class (2014+), R231 SL (2013+), X253 GLC, CLA, GLA, C257 CLS and AMG GT all use cap 2224700205 instead.
Installation
Remove the old cap, inspect the filler neck for debris or damage, fit the new cap and tighten until it clicks. Many EVAP-related check engine lights clear after several drive cycles.
