Fitment Compatibility
| Model | Chassis | Year Range |
|---|---|---|
| C 63 AMG | W204 | 2009–2015 |
| E 63 AMG | W211 / W212 | 2007–2011 |
| CLS 63 AMG | W219 | 2007–2011 |
W204 = Direct Fit — All Other Chassis Require Fabrication
How Our Three Header Styles Compare
| Shorty | Mid-Length | Long Tube | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Power bias | Low & mid-range | Mid-range into top end | Top end |
| Factory cats | Retained | Removed | Removed |
| Road legal | Retains emissions equipment | No — off-road only | No — off-road only |
| Install | Bolt-on, no welding | Welding required | Welding usually required |
| Price band | Lowest | Middle | Highest |
You are viewing the long tube. The M156 shorty keeps the cats and bolts on in 3–5 hours; the S63 / CL63 long tube is the W221 / C216 version of this part.
You will likely need: O2 sensor extension harness
Long tubes move the rear (post-cat) oxygen sensors well away from the factory harness. Our 24″ O2 sensor extension harness covers the gap with no cutting or splicing. You will need two. Far cheaper to add now than to put the car back on the lift.
While The Exhaust Is Off
A header install already has the car on a lift with the exhaust apart. These are the jobs worth combining rather than paying the labour twice:
- 82mm throttle body and the 74→82mm adapter plate — the intake-side counterpart to freeing up the exhaust
- Aluminium intake tubes and the intake filter spacer kit
- H-13 head stud kit — the well-known M156 head bolt failure. Far cheaper to address preventatively than after.
- 5-piece billet idler pulley set and the oil catch can kit
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these bolt on, or does my car need fabrication?
Only the W204 C63 is a direct fit with the included midpipes. E63 (W211/W212) and CLS63 (W219) will bolt to the head, but the midsection requires fabrication to mate to your exhaust. Budget for exhaust shop time if you’re not on a W204.
Are these street legal?
No. These are race / off-road use only. They remove the factory catalytic converters, which is not emissions-compliant for street use. Weld-in catalytic converters are available if you need to retain cats — ask before ordering.
Do I need a tune?
The headers will make power without one, but you won’t see the full +39 WHP / +34 lb-ft without an ECU tune, and you may set O2 sensor fault codes running catless. Most customers pair these with an M156 ECU tune.
What’s actually in the box?
A pair of T-304 stainless long-tube headers plus the midsection piping (midpipes). Gaskets and hardware requirements vary by chassis — message us with your exact model and year and we’ll confirm what else you’ll need.
Will this fit a right-hand-drive car?
Yes — these are compatible with both LHD and RHD vehicles.
